My College List Please Critique

Brown and Columbia can be possibilities if you live your life everyday thinking it and working towards meeting your goals. I think you can make it whatever you want, as long as you show strong interest, etc. You seem like a solid candidate, but I’m not to sure on the ECs.

UVa is not a safety for anyone.

^
How do you know that?

whats wrong with my ECs?

i think its my grades that screw me

UVA is not a safety for anyone. especially out of state,
i’d say its a match to a low reach.

Brown is a reach for you, but you have a chance. You should apply if you are interested.

haha brown or bust- i have the same attitude as you

maybe if my sat score improves this time around hopefully that may boost my chances a little

does an interview count for a lot? hopefully my recs and essays can push me over the top into the much shorter acceptance pile! :)

Second Swarthmore and strongly suggest you look at Kenyon, great English department and becoming more well know everyday.

Definitely do ED for Brown if it’s where you really want to go.

And don’t worry about your SAT too much, as my math score was slightly lower than yours, but I was still accepted ED with similar grades and seemingly equivalent ECs to you.

this sounds terrible but im attracted to “prestigious” schools- so feel free to call me out on my superficiality
ive never really heard about kenyon

i think swarthmores out of my reach…my friend goes there and said its really competitive
i like Brown’s somewhat laid back casualness
at least thats the sense I got from visiting

You’re qualified for any school. I think you should expand the number of schools you’re applying to, specifically reaches and targets. If you can bring your Math/CR score higher, then you have a good chance at many schools

Also, don’t listen to those people who said your ECs were sketch. They’re pretty damn good and you should just focus on getting your grades as high as possible

what schools do u reccomend?
its hard for me to distinguish target/reach
and im sort of picky prestige and geography wise

Put one in for Yale, try some of the top LACs, then maybe some good LACs like Claremont McKenna or Pomona. Its up to you, but do some research first

Some other schools to consider: Tufts, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Bowdoin.

Isn’t duke way out of my reach, especially if Brown is a big reach for me
