Applying for colleges has been extremely stressful. The extent to which I am sleep deprived can not be put into comprehensible words. I have vivid dreams during 2 minute naps, I fall asleep at 4 P.M. and wake up at 4 A.M. to the realization that I have an AP Physics test, Physiology test, and AP Calc test that day. It’s truly awful, but it’s inevitable and invariable for those like me.
Sometime in the following day, I will post my stats, extracurriculars, the colleges I have applied to/am applying to, etc. and we’ll see where hard work, luck, and fate take me. Also, prepare to bear the rantings of a stressed, well-dressed, and dramatic AP student with hella nice eyebrows. See you on the flip side.
So you are saying that you made your bed but don’t have time to sleep in it.
Sorry for the pun, but I thought a little humor might brighten your day. Good luck.
Kind of surprised you were awake after midnight writing this post. No wonder you aren’t sleeping enough. Stop being so negative please, that’s not going to help you. If you still have colleges to apply to, remember, they want to admit people they like. Be sure your app shows that you are likable and not a total stress head. Okay? Now get some sleep
@Lindagaf Genuinely thankful for the advice, but that was actually just supposed to be a little funny quip to start my blog. I’m a quite jovial person most of the time, but I do enjoy talking to others (and there will undoubtedly be some) who live the same kind of lifestyle. And you must be in a different time zone, because it was actually 10:00 lol. @ClassicRockerDad It actually did and thanks!
Continuing with my pseudo-blog, here I will post experiences and hopefully decent advice about my college application process as it all unfolds during my senior year. I have already applied to one college, and have already found mistakes - things I wish I could’ve done differently. I pray that by telling you all this, you can gain from my mistakes. I honestly used to think I was the sh*t. I’m just kidding, I just got a little cocky is all. Mistake #1: Comparing yourself to others. Some compare themselves to others and are very discouraged. This comes later for me. I compared myself to the more quantitative statistics of those applying to top colleges and thought I was on par. No, I’m not, which I later discovered. Sitting on my throne, I started to read college confidential and read about kids with better stats and extracurriculars who are all denied from the colleges I applied to. Big downer. Mistake #2: Same as mistake #1, except this time, I compared my self to people who are better. DONT. just don’t. You are your own person, and you never know what circumstances others’ applications were viewed under. You should be introspective enough to know what’s a reach (but a reasonable one), match, and safety. Colleges look for diversity, so don’t think that you are obligated to start a club because the majority of over-achievers do (By the way, I don’t agree with this word. You can never be too successful). Compile a sensible list of colleges and don’t try to be like everyone else. But be great. Up next: My stats, extracurriculars, and colleges I’m applying to.
Just realized this whole blog is really offing stupid bc who actually cares. Read my other one for my stats + hopefully whoever else feels so inclined to post theirs
Would you care to provide a link?
And this thread wasn’t stupid.
@MYOS1634 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1974447-official-2021-accepted-deferred-waitlisted-or-rejected-plus-stats.html#latest ahaha just that it seems more like the rantings of a mad woman then it does anything useful for future generations
@bonjovial
