My critical reading and math scores differ by 140 points (math was 770 and reading was 630). I can't really tell which schools my score is competitive at because at most, my math is above average while my reading is bellow. What do I do/where do I look? (plus writing is over 700, I am a white male, and want to major in something along the lines of finance, economics, mathematics, etc).

p.s. I took the SAT 3 times, not taking again. tried the ACT, got a 30 (not gonna send anywhere)

First step- what schools interest you? Not “where do you want to go”, but what schools seem interesting? Why?

Second step- what kinds of classes do you like now? Not “what do you want to major in” but what interests you right now? Why?

Bonus - do you see yourself at a large college or a small college? Why?

The topic is this: to get a good college fit you have to let us know a little more about you.

Schools below the top 50 are a lot more likely to focus on the high score and forgive a lower one. In general, look at the 50th percentile. Without a hook either CR or M being below median will make you less competitive. Low CR especially hurts as there are more high math scores applying.
