I was admitted to the cockrell school of engineering and was told I needed to take a calculus readiness test (aleks test) since I took calculus this past year in high school. My deadline for this test was June 5th. Is there any way I can still take this test? I think I may be kicked out of the cockrell school of engineering if I do not meet the calculus readiness requirements.

Edit: I misread and June 5 was the deadline for a spacial visualization test. I'm currently trying to figure out what my deadline was/is for the aleks test. Obviously I should have figured this stuff earlier...

Did you take the calculus ap test this year? I was just at orientation and my advisor said if you made at least a 4 you wouldn’t have to take it. I think you have until like 10 days before school starts to take the aleks test, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

You have until the 5th day of class to take the ALEKS placements tests for both math and chemistry. If you don’t have your scores in by then you just get dropped from your class and wont be able to take those courses until the next semester.

I’d just get them done sooner or later. Waiting last minute is never fun.

Thanks for the responses guys and sorry that I misread my requirements. I have just finished taking the aleks test and passed. I took the AP Calculus exam this year but I read that I have to take this aleks test because I will sign up for classes at orientation before I get my scores back from the AP exam. I missed my deadline for some “Spacial Visualization” test. Am I still okay? It still let me take the test and said that the test can be retaken at orientation. The email was titled something like “Important Engineering notice” and the deadline was highlighted (that I missed) so it looked serious but it didn’t say anywhere in the email what will happen if you miss the deadline.

You should be okay, when I was waiting to meet with my advisor at orientation, I heard one guy ask about taking the spatial visualization test, and another guy told him it wasn’t really mandatory, but mainly for research purposes and to see whether or not you would want to take their visualization class in the fall. If you still managed to take it, you should be fine though.
