my dilemma

I have 3 APs for my junior year: US History, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. For US History, I'm just going to read the entire AMSCO book because my teacher has done a really good job of teaching us and I feel confident by just refreshing my memory.

Chemistry, on the other hand, is a completely different issue. Our chemistry teacher probably came from the lowest pits of hell and has managed to teach us nothing except acids and bases the entire year. We've done 1 out of the recommended College Board labs (titration) and we've been expected to self study most of our material while she sits in front of the computer all day doing I don't know what.

I'm signed up for a AP Chem prep class but it's more SATII oriented if anything so it'll help me only to a certain degree. My predicament is how I should go about studying for the exam? My library has the Barron's, Princeton Review, CliffsNotes, and Peterson's guides for chemistry. Do I have time to read both the AMSCO book (2-3 chapters a day as I've scheduled it) AND the enormous Barron's book? I would love to do a diagnostic test to find out which areas to study but honestly, that would result in a disaster.

I don't care about college credit anymore. I really just don't want to fail the exam and not get into the college I'm hoping to get into. What course of action do you guys recommend?

don't read barron's; use princeton review. You don't need to know everything about chemistry in order to pass the exam and pr gives you enough information. I spent a good month with this book and I got a 5 on the test.

PR is the way to go in this case. Barron's would be a good option if you had a decent teacher/good textbook and were looking to challenge yourself with the review. The practice tests are overly difficult and make sure you get your s*** together in terms of content and reading each question thoroughly, etc. But it's too dense for a two or three-week review, go for the PR. It's starting to be the book of choice anyway, and is certainly the best in your situation.
