My EFC was about 13,000 and I am planning to attend an out of state school that costs about 38,000 per year.

What kind of financial aid should I expect?

We need more info…

1) Is this an OOS public? Which one?

2) Are your test scores high for this school (well in the top 25%)?

3) Is your GPA high?

4) Does this school give merit scholarships?

5) Does this school also require CSS Profile?

Edit to add:

* 3.2 W GPA; 29 ACT. Accepted directly into The College of Engineering for fall 2012.

Oh Gosh…are you asking about Penn State?

If so, sorry but you’ll likely receive little or nothing more than a 5500 student loan and maybe $2000 in work study.

Most OOS publics do not give much need-based aid to OOS students…that’s why they charge high OOS rates. IF they were just going to cover those costs with aid, why would they charge the high rates???

i hope you have an affordable instate school or some other option.
