My Freshman Class Choices?????

I am going to be a bio major and here is what I chose

CAS 101
WRT 105
BIO 121
MAT 194
CHE 106/107

two questions....will taking a lower math class than what is typical hurt me? and is WRT 105 better or one of the CAS seminar classes?

I also thought about adding BIO 211 but didn't know if that would be much for my first semester.

Any advice would help :)

It looks like a typical freshman-bio schedule.
What do you mean by a “lower math class” than typical? What do you regard as typical?
If you’re worried about grad school, different schools have their own specific requirements.
Some will require classes like Calc I & II, others only Calc I, and others no calculus but general math courses.

there was a part in the iplan site that gave a typical bio schedule and on that it showed MAT 285…i forget the exact label but it was life sciences calc I, I just didn’t know if taking pre-calc was going to put me behind

Calculus I & II are requirements for Bio major. You can take either Life Science Calc (MAT 285 &286) or regular Calc (MAT 295 & 296).

As catt already mentioned, you’ll need a year of calc to earn your BS in Biology. If you’re only seeking a BA, you need a semester of calc.
I suggest life sciences calc 285/286 than regular calc.
