The Problem: My CR, W scores don't complement my other scores.
SAT1( 800 M, 630 CR, 680 W)
SAT2(800 M2C, 760 Chem)

The Solution:
I have access to bunch of SAT books(old ones/new ones).
First book: 10 Real SAT(only CR w/o analogy)
Any suggestions for other books/novels/flashcard sets? I thought I got better at the passages but when I got the $9 service for May SAT I missed 8 reading, 6 sentence completion. I'm going to aim to get 800 on practice tests, but I know I can't get perfect on the sentence completions so I'll try to maximize passages to nil wrong. I hope that with all this practice I can improve to 700CR(more would be great, but I don't know how realistic for me and I know my limitations).

What should I do for writing? I'm expecting 9-10 on essay and hopefully I can improve my MC: 70. I don't know how to prepare for MC caus I only missed 4-5 and its almost a subjective section for a few questions. I don't know if english teachers could perfect the MC section(1-2 wrong if they are human).

Sounds similar to my problem. I got 800M, 640CR, 660W. I wanna get both around 750, but don't see that happening. I always seem to get these random questions wrong, though I was sports editor for school paper and didnt do a bad job (fired because I didn't have time to write an article for 1 issue by a control freak editor in chief). But I digress. I have a rather wide vocabulary and I do well in English classes, but can never seem to do well on English standardized testing. I really am set on UPenn as my dream school and plan on applying ED with a bunch of awesome EC's, leadership positions, community service, rec's, and great grades, but the SAT I English parts are my weakness. If anybody can help me, it would save me from endless worry.

Oh yea.. I have great ECs! My SATs are a concern.

lol sounds like that's gonna be my problem in a few months.

on the PSAT (as a sophomore) i got like 77 M, 75 W, and 60 CR or something.

why does this happen to us?!?!

im really envious of the people who do well on CR but bad on Math because that problem is much easier to fix. They are not 'stupider' as some arrogant math-oriented people suggest, but the SAT is designed for verbal-oriented ppl to succeed more than math-oriented(even more so with writing).

I'm going to really put a lot of effort to improve my score, but its disillusioning(if thats a word) to think that if I start losing focus or mess up on a passage my whole effort is gone to waste.
