My high school is ranked in the mid-500s by Newsweek, is that bad?

Title question. Thanks!

So is mine! Or was USNWR i don't remember...but i remember one of them was in the 500s.

And no, It doesn't imply that your school's bad. I guess those rankings just weigh in how well your school performs ( the students) academically using indexs such as measuring how many students take AP classes and the passing rate etc.

That's not bad if you look at the number of school districts in America.

Ours is in the 400s.

That's not bad at all, considering there are ~18000 public high schools in the United States.

Yeah, that's not bad. I'm pretty sure that my high school is waaaaaaay below that. lol.

As I predicted, my school's not even on the list.

^Where can I find this list. I'm almost certain that my school's not on that list either.

America's Top Public High Schools | Newsweek Best High Schools | Newsweek.com

How is that bad? Mine's not even on the list.

My highschool's not on there, but I wasn't expecting it to be anyway.

That's not bad. Mine's ranked about 1300, and it's still a good school. If anything, in the 500s is a GOOD thing, considering the many schools out there.

My school is around 100.

Haha! Just as I suspected. No school in my entire city is on that list. Mind you, my city has more than 500,000 residents. I say if your school is on that list at all, then you're in a pretty good spot.

My school isn't even close to making that list.

I wouldn't take this into account at all because the school i just moved to is around the 140's and I don't think its great at all. It's alright but my previous school which wasn't on the list, is actually better ( teachers and students) and also "smarter" they just had some behavioral issues ( principals suspended kids harshly and for no reason and yes i was suspended twice there). While my new school is so soft on students and hardly takes disciplinary action.

Mine isn't on there.
Actually I can't get to the list. My computer sucks, but I know. It would have been a big deal here for us to get anything at all.
I'd be shocked if any from my state made it.

Mine is in the 800's while a school not far is on the first page.

Does your school not being on the list affect wether you get into a top college or not?

700s for me...

^no.
my high school is not on that list and look at my college
<--
i got into other top 5 schools as well
