my highschool gpa for college

i got a 3.07 freshman year:/
3.86 sophmore year
and 4.0 junior and senior.

will colleges understand my slump in freshman year and notice my improvement..
i also have decent extra curriculars, volunteering at a hospital with a program, and i havent taken my sat yet but im sure i will get okay or somewhat above okay scores

can i go to a decent college with this?

You can go to a more than decent college as they don’t expect a stellar freshman year gpa however you need many other things on your application as gpa is only 1 aspect

thats a decent GPA
most colleges dont consider freshman year and you improved alot so its actually good

im in the same position, just make sure you write why you did so badly freshman year.

I’d assume if your sat scores and EC’s are good, you will be okay

Is there a list of (non-top-20) schools that do not look at freshman grades? Especially in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic states. I’m not sure where to find this info, and if anyone has some suggestions of decent schools that will only look at scores from sophomore year up, that would be a great start.

i also had a weak freshman year, and strong soph and junior year, and would like to c a list of these schools

We went to a presentation last week with Duke, Stanford, Harvard, Georgetown, and Penn. ONE of them specifically mentioned the drop off 9th grade scores. I recall the speaker looking to her right when she said that…so it was probably either Duke or Stanford (seated to her right). And I’m pretty sure it was Duke. Check those two.

Colleges like to either see constant good grades or an improvement, and you have the latter.
