You write very, very well. You should consider writing an article about you freshman-year experiences at Stanford as a URM from a small town in Texas.
URM and first gen are indeed major hooks! But everyone who got into Stanford needs to write great essays!

Am I late to the party? Hope you’re having narly time at Stanford, hopefully I can join next year! And I know that people are saying that you have 2 hooks going with you, URM and first gen, but does first gen help that much? I’m Asian and first gen, but I don’t really see it helping me THAT much unless I’ve misunderstood for the last couple of years.
Did you have any hooks? Also, what was your area of interest stated on your application?
