My last shot. Resources Out.

I will be taking the SATs for the final time in October. My goal is to score a 2200 or preferrably 2250. My first to scores have been around 2050. I can consistently score in the 700s for CR and W but my math is really weak. I can only score around 650. When I started studying my composite score was 1700. I improved my CR from 550-730 and my writing from 580-710 and my math from 640-670. I can understand all the math problems, do not find them hard, practiced crazily, rarely make stupid mistakes, but my score does not still even surpass 700. -_-

Its my last shot. Im hoping to score around 750 for each section. Unfortunately, I finished all of the BB by collegeboard, the pr, and even the sample tests online put out by collegeboard. What are my other options now? Should I repeat the BB? Or are there any other books that will help me increase my score?

maybe you should take the college board online course

no money for the online course =/ plus i do not study at home so I cant use a computer

Dang dude. You took like 20 practice tests? That’s a lot of work! After all that you’d think that the math questions would start to have a familiar pattern. Though the questions aren’t the same, the tested concepts are. Have you consistently looked at your wrong answers to see WHY they are wrong? I you have difficulty in a particular subject, you should probably study up more in that area.

why not repeat the BB tests? If you keep taking them and you can get like 2300s on all of them, I see no reason why you can’t get that on the real thing. All the tests test practically the same things anyways.

lol <3 <3 <3.

This OP showed that hardwork itself isnt enough to get a 2300+. For those of you out there saying that anyone who is willing to Nerd away at SAT can get a 2300, this case is a classic counterpoint.

^ wow…

@ the OP: Study why you got each problem wrong. I’m in the same exact position as you and my score is already improving by studying and memorizing why the correct math answer is what it is and why I was wrong, etc. Good luck.

@jasoninNy,

Anyone who is willing to work hard enough can score very well on the SAT. I scored abysmally on the PSAT (<170) and have already shown massive improvements in my practice tests. (~2100, and I still have the entire summer to improve.)

I’m sort of on the fence on that debate. While anyone is capable of significantly improving his or her SAT score, not everyone is able to hit near perfect numbers. There cases of people going <2000 to 2300+ but not everyone can do that. Remember, it’s an aptitude test, so if you don’t have the aptitude there’s only so much you can do. Otherwise everyone could get a 2400, rendering it worthless.

On ebay the online course code is only 10 dollars if money is tight for you.

Try number2 dot com (or dot net, I’m not sure which). You can also retake some of the collegeboard tests and see whether you still make the same mistakes as you did before —> a great way to see how much you’ve learned.

Retake the BB tests in the new version. They’re beneficial. Figure out why you got each problem wrong for each tests. Find a study partner.

have u got ahold of the past adminstered exams, aka QAS?

You probably maxed out your scores since taking 20 practice tests is more than enough.

Yeah i know. It’s sad. I work my butt off just to see my math go up 10 points. LOL. For the math section, I see every problem I did wrong and stuff and review. I know how to do all of them. I just cant score well…for some reason. -_- lol I guess ill jsut find some more CB tests.

Can I use the old sat book by CB? Like the ones with only the math and cr sections? Are they essentially the same and will they help for the current sats? also if they do, which obok is it? I checked on amazon but there are many “old” CB books. I dont want to buy the wrong one

I think the math used to be more difficult but i’m not sure. And the CR was very different, especially with the dumb analogies. Idk if those would work at all.
