Ok so I just found out that my public High School sends more than 10% of it's applicants to a top 25 School in the US. Lets just say this is a little personal F- You CHELDAGDS haha.Impressive stats for a public HS ... Lets talk about Public HS with good college matriculation stats. ;)

Are you just saying this because you did not get in. Not to be harsh, but there is no need to talk like that. There is nothing wrong with publics schools though. The best public school would probably be TJHS in VA.

Swissbrit and I go to the same school. I’m still glad I’m going to Groton but our school is pretty good.

well my school in ny sends 20 to cornell a year. it was considered a cornell feeder school. We sent 33 percent to what was considered “selective college”. also my new hs isnt that bad. Its ranked in the top 10 in cali, and top 50 nationally

No I mean I was Joking, I only applied to Andover and I did not get in but I still respect the institution. What I was saying is that not only Elite Prep Schools have impressive matriculation stats, btw my HS is open enrollment and it happens to be nearish to TJHSST. By all means do not feel offended, I am just very excites :)

Jyun lol yeah mine is top 50 nationwide. Wow 30 to cornell is a lot xD

Blue lol I am so proud of our Public HS lol .

Good for you? No one said PS are totally inferior…I mean I REALLY wouldn’t mind being at Stuy right now.

BlueRaven1, just curious, what did you wrote in the Groton app question “What do you like best about your current school?” ???

my public high school that i use to go to is ghetto lets just say maybe about 5% of the students that grad a year go to post secondary schools and they are no where near selective the best school that a kid go in from my old high school was Sprott Shaw community college

this school i went is like sooo ghettto

Well my school does draw into somewhat of “a ghetto” but neverless about 96% graduate and 95% go onto college…

I live in a small town and our graduating class last year had 138 kids. Out of that number, 4 went to Harvard, 5 to Cornell, one to Princeton…can’t remember others. But I do know that 13% went to Ivies. Of course, a larger percent went to state schools. Still, rather solid proof that we’re doing something right up here in the sticks.

zp

erm… well Stuy and TJHS aren’t considered public… [I thought… o_0]

^ public elites… but then again they don’t really have open enrollment, you have to take an entrance exam and all that…

my local public school is pretty average, 200 or so grads every year and very few of them go out of province… most of them go to UBC or somewhere mediocre like that there was 1 girl who got into columbia like 6 years ago, and she’s still a legend, hahaha

I’m really excited for you swissbrit. I think you will have an amazing time there! Good luck

That’s true a large part of our school draws into a very affluent area while other parts are very much not and then there’s bits in between.

Thanks preppy, I realized it’s a great school and I have great friends. I mean they offer so many sports, clus,AP,IB, Honors It really is a good public school and I am happy to
go there, I will still probably end up applying to a few BS’s but not as many as I had planned :)

Ohh yeah Blue Raven very true lol .

Oh god swissbrit you’ve caught “insertHSnamehere” fever! I caught it back in October, I recovered nicely Nah you’re right it’s a good school although I’m not sure how challenging those ‘honours’ courses are (anyone can sign up for them).
