My SAT score is very very low. I took it back in June 08. I didn't sleep much and didn't take it seriously, but this time I am. I've been studying for it for a while now. I want to apply for UCF as soon as possible, but should I apply now or after I take the SAT so I can send in my higher scores?

I’d say wait and send better scores, if you are sure you can improve significantly.

I’m in the same boat as you. I made a 910 because I didn’t study, didn’t read the passages before answering questions, guessed on a bunch of them, didn’t sleep early- to put it in a nutshell, I took the test as a complete joke. I took the ACT yesterday and will be sending in those scores, no matter what I get. I actually emailed an admissions counselor about this, and she replied saying that I will just be deferred if my test score is the only problem.

If you have a strong academic background along with a good history of extracurricular activities and such, I think you should just send in what you have now. If anything, they will just defer you, and you can just send in the updated test scores. The later you apply, the slimmer are your chances of gaining admission.

Mind sharing your stats?

I agree with Mizzxvii’s advice.
