"my so-called life" for supplement? (tv show)

I realize they’re looking for creative responses, but would comparing myself to angela chase from “my so-called life” make me seem - for lack of better word - dumb? I mean, I read lots of books, but I truly connect with Angela.

So should I stick with my Angela Chase paragraph or write something new and book related.

ps. “my so-called life” is a show from the late 90s. although it had only one season, its a cult classic.

go with Angela Chase! i think itll be much more creative than some random character from a book. that show was rly interesting btw

Definitely go with Angela Chase! It's important that you go with a character you can write a lot about, not one you think will impress them.

That tv show is generally considered one of the top 10 of all time, well in my head anyways, I don't think that it would seem "dumb" at all to write your essay about Angela. At the same time, you should consider that many people have never heard about the show and they don't know about Angela. It's not as if you're comparing yourself to Mary Tyler Moore whom most people know of, even if they've never seen the show (Well, that's a bit of an old example, but i like "classic" tv shows). You'll have to represent the show as well as yourself in the essay. But your essay sounds pretty interesting,

thanks for the support, I'll stick with it then! I'm just having a little difficulty making it fit the character (number of letters/spaces) limit

Yeah, definitely stick with it - not dumb at all :) As corny as it sounds, it's you and it comes from your heart.

how important is it to stay in the 1000 character limit if I upload the short answers?

I think it's important to stay close, but fine to go over by a couple hundred characters (really only a couple dozen words).

so, like 1400 characters isn't too bad?

Probably not, in terms of words that's not significantly more. All the directions say is to stick to one well-developed paragraph.
