My sunscreen woes

I have tennis practice from 6-8 in the morning and from 3-5:30 in the afternoons, and since I'm pretty pale, I put sunscreen on. But, due to the 100 degree heat here in lovely Kansas City, I sweat a lot, and the sunscreen comes off! Now, I'm slightly sunburned, and I was wondering if there was anything that I could do that would help keep some of the sunscreen on to prevent sunburning.

Try Jack Black http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Black-Oil-Free-Resistant-Sunscreen/dp/B0006TVY50

Just don't use sunscreen. Solved lots of my problems.

^^ But then I'll get a bad sunburn!

waterproof?

I am allergic to sunscreen, and I burn easily since I am on acne medication...I hate the sun!

(not that this helps you)

I used Neutrogena SPF 70 at camp last week. It is waterproof and I didn't get burnt at all. (I usually burn very easily)

wow 6 in the morning. I could never wake up that early for tennis practice. I don't know much about getting sunburned (only get sunburned on my ears), but you should practice more intensely for less time. Hit for like an hour or two every day but work really hard. You'll be in the sun less and get more out of it.

The biggest thing you could do is apply sunscreen half an hour before you start sweating (a major pain). This gives time for the goo to get into the skin so that it isn't just on the surface to get carried away by sweat.

As for sunscreens, I like Bullfrog and Neutrogena. If I'm not mistaken, Neutrogena blocks UVA and UVB. Some companies (Ex Officio and Solumbra are two) make very lightweight long sleeve sunproof shirts, hats, gloves, pants, etc. You actually feel cooler wearing it because you aren't being blasted by the sun.

By the way, kudos to you for actually worrying about sunburn and skin cancer. So many airheaded teenagers flock to tanning salons or lie by the pool just absorbing the stuff.

I wish that the practice times could be different, but the coach insists on these practice times. The 6-8 one isn't bad because it is dark for the majority of the time, but the 3-5:30 is killer! And we only have a week and a half before our first match--eeks!! :)

I feel you...
I'm at golf camp from 8 until 12;30 and its about 100 degrees here...

wow, that sucks! i have to play for the number 1 spot tommorrow..im scared! we have a week and a half before our first match too..gl!

Good luck vin09!! :)

What really messes people up with sunblock is that you need 20-30 minutes for your skin to soak up the sunblock...so if practice is at 6, you need to be DONE sunblocking by 5:40, not by 6. And you need to be reapplying by 7:40. Also, do not use spray sunblocks unless you are prepared to use A LOT! Get waterproof, protect against UVA/UVB, helioplex...this worked for me in miami

the one time I don't read every post BEFORE posting, I eerily say the same thing as ninja_love
