My Teacher Is NOT Very Good

I'm taking AP English Language and Composition. My teacher had never even heard of AP when she started working at my school last year. It's not just that she is unqualified to teach this course, but she goes off on random tangents and wastes tons of class time. She is always trying to lessen our workload (which is going to hurt us in the end obviously); after we finished reading "Beowulf," she said, "Let's have a party celebrating Beowulf's victory. Bring some snack food to class for the party." And we accomplished nothing that day; it was just a free period. It's basically just an Honors--if you could even call it that--English class, except we do some practice passages in an AP workbook once a week. She will not sufficiently prepare us for the AP exam in May!

So my question is: What can I do throughout the year to prepare myself for the AP Exam? Just read a lot and know tons of literary terms?

Honestly ap Lang and comp doesn’t really require a whole lot of learning throughout the year, so if you get an ap review guide and look through it the week before the ap exam you should be fine. It’s much more important to just get essay writing practice throughout the year
