My TOEFL score is 100 and I am worried

Hi all,

Yesterday I got my TOEFL score online, and it is 100. I am fluent in English, and I also received a scholarship to attend and finish American high school as a Bulgarian international student. Therefore, I will go to the U.S. in August 2021. The competition was fierce, and the acceptance rate of my scholarship program was only 3%. Anyway, my TOEFL score is 100, and I know I can do a lot better than this. This score does not reflect my full potential, but because of the COVID-19 measures, I had to wear a mask for four straight hours, and I had a problem with my glasses. All of this resulted in me not being focused, and I even had a breakdown. Knowing this information, 100 is a high score for what I did. I want to apply to Harvard and Yale, and I am starting to prepare for the SAT, which I will take in the U.S. I wanted to ask you all if this score of 100 will hurt my chances of admission. I also have pretty impressive extracurriculars and national and international awards in the field of STEM and Arts. I won’t be able to retake the TOEFL because of financial reasons.

Assuming the 100 is well-balanced in subscores, it us sufficient. Colleges are looking that you have achieved the threshold. Higher scores above the minimum do not improve chances.

Hey,

First, thanks for replying. I appreciate it! Secondly, my scores are as follows: 25 on reading, 28 on listening, 24 on speaking (microphone problems), 23 on writing (I thought I could get more. Unfortunately, I don’t know what happened). I hope that my college essays will help the admissions officers see my writing skills and that my interview will show them that I can speak fluently! I checked that the Ivy League institutions require 100 points, so I hope I meet this requirement.
