I currently am located at a community college with a 3.7 GPA and I’m in my first semester of school. I want to get into Tisch very badly and here’s my plan of action that I hope someone can tell me is the right idea.

-Currently in Honors Society, do service for them and possible scholarship money
-Honors Classes
-I am trying to start a film club
-I joined the Student Volunteer program.

I understand the sincerity and competition that NYU is known for and I am 100% completely dedicated to getting myself there. I hope to get my GPA higher by the end of this semester but I wanted some opinions on this. Thank you!

My interest in NYU was started freshman year of high school as I started film class. I’ve worked hard to understand the aspect of film and I’ve done plenty of stuff since I started, but I know there’s a next level to that, and thats NYU Tisch. My reason for community college is more or less financial reasons than anything else (although I knew I wouldn’t be able to get into NYU applying senior year).

I would try to apply for the undergraduate TV and Film department. Look, I’m not saying that there is a chance I wont get it, it’s reality and setting myself up to be disappointed is wrong, BUT like I said before - I’m willing, determined and I understand what I have to do to get into such an esteemed institution such as NYU.
