i was in boston walking around the campus(the entire weekend) which i was soo interested in and saw NO ONE. i swear I only saw three students. How could one have a social life if no one is ever around?

and BU is supposed to have the city campus. but beyond the T stop. there is no city. just like a single store.

the campus is a lot busier on weekdays, especially around the times when classes get out...you'd see a huge mass of people walking up and down comm. ave on the bu campus. on the weekends, you won't see as many students walking around. part of that is because so many of the upperclassmen live off campus (usually in allston) and therefore don't need to be on campus during the weekend.

the part of boston that the bu campus is in isn't really the "downtown" part with all the stores and shopping and everything, although it's fairly close..if you take the t from, say, bu east to hynes convention center..that's only 2 stops and it takes like 5 mins, and that takes you right to one end of newbury street, where you can do a lot of shopping or walk down to the boston common. you could also walk there instead of taking the t and it's pretty quick too

A lot of juniors and seniors live in BU apartments in South Campus, not only off campus Allston, and many live in StuVi. Most buildings of any school are for classes and those are pretty empty after hours. There's more life around FitRec, which is full in the evenings.

BTW, after two kids and over 30 college visits later, I would say that a lot depends upon the time of day that you are "visiting" a school. We have a tendency to go the the 1st info session/tours of the day and tend to go on Saturday. We saw WPI most recently and went a little later than usual. Our tour was 11:00 AM that Saturday. The guide commented on how it was still to early to see many people. Depending on the time/day of your visit, that might explain things for you.

Well, on a Saturday most students sleep until 1 o'clock and don't stay around campus during the day. On a Saturday night, you will probably find many students roaming down Bay State Road or down in West Campus but on a normal weekend day, you won't see many kids on the streets because they are either sleeping or trying to get some work done. Also, it depends on what weekend you were here. If it was a holiday weekend, a lot of people go home or go to NYC for the weekend. Boston is a great place to be because not only are there lots of things to do but there are also lots of places you can go visit for very cheap.
