Myers Briggs Test career advice!?

I recently got my results back: I'm a ENTJ.

Portrait of an ENTJ

Well, this was a shocker. Not really. Actually, it's like so accurate it's scary. But anyways, the trouble is it might not really match what I want to do. I'm supposed to pay attention to what this says, if not... I might not end being up satisfied professionally.

Besides from the obvious business and law... What careers/majors come to mind for people described as ENTJ??

Anyways, if you haven't tried it yourself... take it at least, online. Very insightful.

Thankss:)

Although, as you said, they do seem pretty accurate, they’re not meant to be interpreted as career tests. The careers listed are just careers that your personality type often enjoys/does well in. I really don’t think you should dismiss a career because it’s not listed there, but maybe you should confirm (to the best of your ability) that it’s what you want to do through research, introspection, and talking to people in the field.

You’re totally right!
But I was thinking… what if what I want to do isn’t really compatible with me? Is that even possible? Hmmm… One can’t help but wonder: what is what you love/want to do isn’t a match for your personality? For example, you might love teaching and children, and even if you love working with disabled children… maybe you don’t have the patience you thought you had to work with them or the tolerance, once you are actually working in the field.

This is totally random… that’s what research and shadowing help you with… anyways I wanted to hear imputs. Thank youuu :)

I think it’s possible. But it’s also possible that you can overcome some kind of inherent incongruity through passion and effort.

It might also mean that you just don’t know enough about the field/career yet. I thought I wanted to be a pharmacist until I realized I didn’t like bio, and then I wanted to be a civil engineer until I realized I didn’t like physics enough.

and what did you end up picking?

Myers-Briggs is really no different than a horoscope.
