Myspace vs. Facebook

I like myspace because everyone from my school is on there, but i know in college they use facebook, which sucks because I'll have to make a new profile.

I have both, just in case. All of my HS friends use MySpace, but I have college friends too, so that's why I opened a Facebook account.

Who cares??? I would mock you for starting a pointless thread, but most of the users on this site do that(start random threads that is) on a daily basis, and you got into RSI so you can do whatever the HELL you want lol.

i guess that's a compliment...i'll take it that way at least. btw, there was a quote i read by someone that said something like "there is too much information to be gained from useless information."

Yeah, MySpace is so much more useful and accessible. Facebook is all exclusive. Like you can only view the profiles of your friends. Stupizzle.

Sorry I was just introduced to the wonderful Gizoogle.

theoneo! I randomly searched with your name cause I knew that my myspace would come with it. First result was: Welcome Ta Rohan Baller. Hahaha.

Personally, I think facebook has more of an "intelligence appeal", while myspace simply doesn't. Teenage naivety has totally trashed that site. Honestly, I can't stand to read some of my friends' profiles because of all the internet-slang-jargon-that-I-can't-understand, as well as some other pointless things that are best seen and not explained.

Yeah, Facebook does look more professional. It's a bit hard to navigate on MySpace, especially when you want to add a comment because you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom if they don't have a comment box.

facebook is more secure because you know your photos and info can't be seen by just anyone except your schoolmates and friends.

How many of you have heard stories about pedophiles moving through facebook? Exactly. As soon as I officially enroll at a college, I'm excited to start a profile on facebook. Myspace is so trashy and pretty repulsive to me. I LIKE that facebook is more exclusive.

yeah, i'm a facebooker.

I do myspace....I don't think I would be able to find any of my classmates on Facebook! No one has even heard of it.

For anyone who's wondering, you can join facebook without a college email...it has less options, but high school facebook still isn't half bad.

I like facebook much better... cleaner, easier to navigate :)

i like myspace because you can use html, you may be able to with facebook, but i'm not sure. With html, you can pimp our your space (i know that sounded really ghetto)

facebook is definitely cleaner and more professional, i like it a lot better. the thing that bothers me about myspace and like xangas is that people can create "screenames" so sometimes you have no clue who they are even if they are your classmates, (you can do it with facebook too but people usually dont') i like how people on facebook actually are all with their own names so i can search people or find old friends. PLUS i do like how its exclusive.

I like myspace, because if one person i don't know/like is the one that invites for our school,I can't have a facebook in highschool (so i wouldn't have to make one in college).. it's oddly exclusive and i'm not so interested in FB as to find that one find. SO, screw FB and all my old friend (even preschool) have myspace.... it's less snooty. And if the person wants you to know who they are on MS , they'll let you know... i haven't had a problem finding (well they found me) my friends.

I agree, Kfrizzle.

I rarely venture away from the USABO/RSI threads on here, but this caught my eye and I figured I had to respond:

MySpace is utter garbage. The fact that you can "pimp your space," as one individual said earlier, is what makes it such. To be brutally honest, I don't want to have some middle school slut's favorite trashy emo band start playing as soon as I open a site. I want to see your name at the top of the page, not xXmy-xXxtOrTuReDxXx-hEaRtXx.

Also, the attitudes of the two sites are completely different. People who screw around with profiles on Facebook are usually intelligent and funny about it, not moronic and stereotypical. Also, Facebook looks like a real networking site, not the latest trend in user-generated smegma.

Well I guess it's different strokes for different folks. I have both and personally find facebok to be more boring. I like being able to add my personality into my page and stuff. And you can see who's currently online and look at ppl's pages without having to befriend them. hough, 2 things I like about facebook are how you can make make photo albums and upload more pix and how, unlike myspace can be, it isn't a big popularity contest to see who can make the most friends.
