MyUCLA web site

yes after that page you should be good

I’m curious now as to the different displays with regards to major/text on MyUCLA.
I personally transitioned from Unknown Summer Student -> Mathematics -> White Bar

My white bar page looks like http://i.imgur.com/ZUWT5.png</a> and does not currently display my major.

these are the theoy#1 and #2 right?
I hope the theories are true!!

KEEP GOING KEEP GOING WOO
welcome to the dark side, Philo

@norcal, GOOD call

i went from blank->summer student

from what i read seeing blanks and majors are a good sign

OK I did it and just logged off.

So updates happen at 3am? I know I’ve read that around here, but just wanted to make sure

@Jet, the running idea is that if you have transitioned from Summer Sessions -> major and/or then to a white bar, that is a good sign. However, there are just as many students from last year who remained summer sessions students and were accepted as there were those who were not. I have found no one who transitioned to their major and eventually got rejected, however. good signs :)

@groovy, the theories are as follows:

1) if you can see your finaid award (as you can) it is a good indication that you’ve been accepted
2) if you can see your major in myUCLA, it is a good indication that you’ve probably been accepted

Ok I just relogged and it made me update my contact info such as email and once I get into myUCLA, it still gives me the error

@Philo, ahhh! tell us what you see in 5-10 minutes!

edit: yeah, you need to wait a few minutes before it will let you in

citizen yes

philo just give it a couple minutes or so

Im not able to see the theory#2…

LOGIN ERROR
MyUCLA services are limited to undergraduate, graduate and professional students who have been officially admitted to UCLA, UCLA Alumni, UCLA University Extension students who have petitioned for concurrent enrollment, UCLA Summer Sessions students, UCLA instructors, and current UCLA staff.

Ok thanks for the help guys. I can login to myucla and I see the white screen for now. and when I click on registration status, I get this:

Registration Type SUMMER SESSIONS/SPECIAL PROGRAMS STUDENT
Career Status UNDERGRADUATE
College(s)/Program(s) SUMMER SESSIONS/SPECIAL PROGRAMS/SUMMER SESSIONS-UNDERGRADUATE NON-DEGREE
Class Level FRESHMAN (0-44.9 UNITS)
Residence Status NOT SPECIFIED
Campus Services Holds NONE
Registration Payment Status NOT PAID
Withdrawal Status NOT APPLICABLE

freshman???

@groovy, yeah, you need to mess with summer enrollment in URSA to access myUCLA

@philo, that’s completely normal. that’s what all of us are getting. in fact, someone was fairly rude to me about it earlier when I asked, haha, it seems that everyone is getting the same report at this stage. :)

@philo where on myucla are you seeing that?

Recall that your official transcript is NOT on file at the moment so your units are not officially transferred to UCLA. This means that as a UCLA student you have 0 units.

@justine, wow…really?? im kinda scared to mess with summer enrollment in URSA… are u sure doing that wont cause any problems on the admission process?? haha… i know i am being very cautious.

^ @Jet, that’s the best explanation of the “freshman status” phenomenon I’ve heard so far. Well done.

@seanoh, I don’t know how to access it from myUCLA, but in URSA, access your “registration status” for Summer '12 and you’ll see it

@groovy, no worries! I understand. most people are wary at first. it actually doesn’t alter or interfere with anything. the only thing you want to remember is that once you enroll in summer session, do NOT enroll in any classes, because you will be charged a fee. but you have to ACTIVELY attempt to do so to accrue any fees, so you don’t have to worry about that. kids have been doing this every year for at least the past 4 years, and nothing bad ever comes from it. it’s all good!

@justine okayy thanks for clearing that up. I guess the white strip should change into summer session soon…

@sean it’s in URSA click on registration info

@jetlogic right. forgot about that

Just throwing it out there…I can once again apply for bruincard…remember last night some of us could apply then suddenly not…
