Name some schools for me!

hey, I need some "match" schools.
It would be great if anyone could list some colleges that I should look into (northeastern part of US, I live in NY) :)

SAT: 1440/2170
SAT2: bio chem and math lvl 2 all in the 700's. Retaking all three.
GPA: 4.0/4.0 W (100 average) 3.65/4.0 UW? not sure. (BTW, my avg for senior year is better than any year so far (96ish with 4 aps and double science (ap bio and honors physics) - but besides the aps this year, i have taken 3 College level classes, but 1 AP class, and I'm not sending the grade (3).

Extracurriculars: All state / All county / All district symphonic band percussionist, marching band lead tenor drum, -insert every music activity (jazz band/wind ensemble/percussion ensemble) , NHS, music honor society, science honor society, varsity math team. 200+ volunteer hours, part of a band that plays in areas of poverty out of state (NJ and even all the way down in kansas city), Church youth group drummer and vice president (2yrs) then President (2 years).
-there's more, but you guys get the point, heavily music oriented.

Essay i would say is pretty stellar. I didn't write the most amazing thing ever, but then again, I have high standards for myself as well. (basically, it's pretty good)

Recommendations are awesome. Guidance counselor loves me and we've been through a lot together :) same with my 4 year-band director (also the drum teacher) and I have two more pretty good recs from English and Math classes.

I already applied early action to Boston College, and with the things i've been hearing, I met as well just give up the admissions in december and hope for one in spring :P
For reach schools, I really love Tufts, but I am also applying to JHU and Cornell for the hell of it.
My safety is Geneseo or Stonybrook (my absolute LAST choice)
Chances/some information on schools will be more than thankful :)

BTW, do colleges tend to look for people for drumline and bands in their schools as well? The thing is, other instruments can do recordings and such, but not drums lol. Auditions are more than possible, but that would be ONCE i get in the school, so it's not possible right now. Will being a drummer provide as a decent boost especially in the EA round for BC?
Thanks guys

bumpppp PIKAPIKAPIKAPIKA!

What do you want to study? Are you looking for a city, a suburban area or a town, or doesn’t it matter?

Are you looking for a college with a really serious marching band?

AH i knew i forgot something!

I’m going for biochemistry/biology - future med school. Minor in music
I mean it’s undergrad, so I’m just looking to get into a good all-around school with a good science department.

I also like a closed campus like BC and Tufts. Not an open “city” one like BU
hope that narrowed down some choices!

bumppppp anyone? :o

University of Rochester. Best of luck!

keep them coming guiseee

How about:

In PA: Bucknell University, Villanova University, Lafayette College, Franklin and Marshall College

you might actually have a good chance at cornell too.
apply to more reach schools, you never know if they’ll need another drummer by next year :)

Wesleyan is supposed to have a great jazz and world music program but I’m not sure about marching band. Northwestern has an excellent music program. Do a search on the music major forum for percussion. There’s a lot of good information there. But if it just your minor you might not want it to dictate your choice too much. Did you look at Oberlin? You also have to examine what the opportunities are like for students not majoring in music at each school.

Geneseo is a great choice for the Sciences.

If you don’t especially like the SUNYs, it would be a good idea to have a couple of schools between them and your reaches. Is money an issue?

money is not really an issue.

can anyone keep chancing me, and naming colleges? :(

Drumline…do you want to play in BC’s marching band?

So, your parents will pay $50k per year for wherever you go?

I think since you don’t like your safeties (the SUNYs), you need to apply to some safeties that you do like.

BTW…if med school is in your future will your parents pay for both undergrad and med school? If they’ll only pay for one, will they help with med school if you get a scholarship for undergrad? (that’s what my son is doing).

James Madison University in VA (quite a few OOS students from NY, NJ, CT) has pre-med, science majors, a music minor, and a strong marching band.
