I've 5 AP classes my junior year but I wish to take more but unfortunately, my schedule will not permit that, so consequently I'm thinking I should self-study for at least 1 AP test. Which ones would you guys suggest?

I was in the exact same situation as you were...Psych was easy, so was Stat. World History was really easy too, with Barrons. Check into what the policies are for the colleges you're applying to, and see which required classes you can get out of the way with APs.

To tell you the truth, I basically self studied for AP US Government. I stayed home the day before the test, cracked open the Barron's Book and taught myself the entire subject.

I ended up getting a five, which surprised me a little bit because my teacher only wanted to argue all semester, and I learned nothing.

lol thats what i had to do with US History, he didn't teach us anything he just kept talking about the school board and crap... 2 weeks before the test i bought a study guide and basically taught myself all the stuff i needed for the test

i only got a 4 though... atleast his class was an easy A because we never actually had to turn in any work... he just kept talking the whole time.

i'm fairly confident that 95% of the kids in his class don't get into the 4s or 5s on that test

Basically speaking, you can self-study anything if it's your passion or if you are very disciplined and willing to put in the effort (if you have passion, great discipline comes with it already haha).

If history is not your thing, for example, maybe you should take the course at your school. If history is your passion/you're willing to put in the time to effectively self-study for it, then maybe you should self-study it and instead take another course in its place. Likewise, this goes for math, science, foreign languages, etc.

Statistics seems to be the easiest so far for me. I've been self studying the course for about a day, and a lot of it is just common sense stuff. I can't believe I'm wasting a period taking this class in school. -_-

I self studied bio, stats and environmental science and I thought all were pretty easy. In both environmental sci and bio you just need to read and REMEMBER a lot. Stats you just need to sit down and learn how to do it, it's not that hard, but consumes some time.

If you self-studied Psychology and got a 5 on the AP test, can you recommend a prep/study guide book to use? I'm actually pretty iinterested in the subject and wouldn't mind reading the prep book but id want to know i could do well on the AP after reading it, for I won't have access to any sort of psychology textbook

Chem, both Phys C and Calc BC.. all it takes is 3 months before the exam, PR books supplemented with some Acro and Barrons.. and also past year's FR questions.. and still gain 5 for them :)

*note: its not like british marking scheme where to gain a 5 (A) you must score above 80% of the paper... you can easily just leave a few major questions blank in AP and still score 5.
