Natioanal Karate Gold medalist?any good?

hello guys i would really appreciate if someone answers my query

the thing is that i am a gold medalist (national[India]) would it help me to get into any university of California... i am giving SAT and my gpa is also like 3.4

THNX!! IN ADVANCE IF YOU ALL HELP ME OUT

Only if you think you're good enough to compete on the Inter-college level; and only if the relevant UC competes in Karate, which I don't think is a recognized competitive sport yet...

thats sad .... no use of my national level sport :-( i just wasted my time then i think if it is of no use... :-(

It's not a negative. It's a great EC to put on your application, but i think what limnieng was trying to say is that it won't get you in the UCs for sure.

so wat do u think ,will it make somewhat make me stand out ...?as in,among admission candidates?

ps:srr for the spellings of National

lol srry for saying srr hahaha my brain works faster than my typing

Like I said, it's definitely a plus, but not a HUGE one. It'll make you stand out somewhat, but don't expect it to get you in. Remember: Extracurriculars can only do so much. Just make sure you have to stats to stand strong among candidates. That's most important.

thnx jacob..... and limnieng

eh.. i dont think so.

IF so, I took grand champion (at the time, Two weapons, one fist form, All Gold) wheni was 13 at chin woo internnational tournament.
