^^^the packet semifinalists receive tells them that the decisions will be released at the end of January... NMSC sends the notifications directly to the students' respective homes, and to the high schools, as well...

Arrrgggh! I hope my D TELLS us! She gets home before I do and gets the mail. She recently turned 18 and has decided that she'll be doing everything on her own from now on.

opening her own mail . . .
signing her own forms . . .
buying her own clothes (with our money)
driving her own truck (that we loaned her)

Anybody wanna buy a kid?

^^^^^ Lol, yes I love their version of independence: They get to make all their own decisions using the money and resources I earn. Of course, if they all get full scholarships I'll just call it a smart investment.

Still no word yet. Maybe tomorrow.

What about that signing forms thing....I signed a school permission slip today for my 18 and 31 day old daughter. Should I let her try that? Hmm...still needs the 65 dollars though...

ROFL ME TOO!!! 18yrs, 8 days and $23.50 today -- but she wanted to sign the form. Dang! FLVADAD, sure hope you're right about that "investment" thing!

Shrinkrap, too bad our Ds don't have a single school in common. Incredible how often our experiences dovetail!

I really love this place.

ok! ok! ok!! I just got off the phone w/the Nat. Ach. folks!!

Sooooo . . . from an OFFICIAL source (drumroll please)

THE LETTERS WENT OUT YESTERDAY!!! (to the students)

They went out on the 23rd to the Schools!

I will NOT be able to sleep 2nite!! Good luck everyone! :-)

so.........a chicago kid should expect when he gets home tonight?

Not necessarily. Depends on what they meant when they said "went out." -- Could just mean: "Went to the mailroom." In which case, they could take ohhhh, sayyy 2-3 days to process? . . . oh torture . . .

I just told my D not to expect anything until next week. But she said she got more anxious after her GC asked her about it on Thurs. She said she thought they already knew but didn't want to tell her.

sigh Nothing in today's mail. :-(

Nope, here neither...... :-(

I got a letter!!!! It said that since I am such a fantastic candidate they've decided to just give me all the scholarship money instead of dividing it up later.
Start applying for other scholarships people!!!

congrats ilovecapezios! =] I am a bit confused by your post though. What do you mean give you all the money now?

I myself just got a letter saying that I was a finalist as well. woot! Mind you, I live in Chicago right by Evanston, hence the early notification. mom and I are very pleased. ;)

Good luck to everyone else, hope you hear soon!
