Hi guys... I just got my scores back for my PSAT that I took a couple of months ago. I got a 209. I'm half black, so I checked off black, so I should be considered for the National Achievement award... I'm in PA. Do any of you know what the cutoffs are for typically receiving the distinction of National Achievement Outstanding Scholar/Semifinalist/Finalist/etc? I know I will almost definitely not get National Merit Semifinalist (..so mad! I got a 219 last year and that would have cut it), but will probably get National Merit Commended. Thanks so much in advance!

Commended should be a sure thing, so be proud! For what it’s worth, 219 is not necessarily a sure thing for NMSF anyway (though it probably would have been nice to go up.) Good luck with the distinction. I’m sorry I don’t know anything about that.

Yes you should be above the range for
national achievement semi-finalist. It is hard to
Pin down exact number because it is by regions. Try reading some Old Threads
