My score is high enough to qualify for national merit and achievement, but I was wondering if I even qualify for the latter. I am half African half Italian, and I do not know if this is acceptable for national achievement. Technically I am African living in America but I know my culture is not the same as the African American one. I feel like I should qualify because I am not white and I do have African heritage from both of my parents and I do speak a tribal language and go to a traditional African church. However, since I physically do not have very dark skin (olive tone as opposed to darker of my father and brother) I don't want to be rejected. What do you think I should do?

They don’t care about skin tone. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/615763-psat-national-commended-achievement-s.html. That was posted a while back and no one seems offended by the poster’s heritage. You’re fine. X)
