Last year (and the year before) there was a box on the PSAT to mark if you were an African American so you could qualify for National Achievement. This time that was not on anyone's forms that I asked. So do they now automatically consider all AA/Black juniors for the scholarship, has it been removed altogether, or is there something wrong with my school? Thanks!

I had the same question. Perhaps they are just going to use the race marker for it, considering that Section 14 was sort of redundant. It’s kind of asking you for your race twice. Additionally, there would be no reason to decline a scholarship.

Apparently after the 2015 scholarship awards, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation will work with UNCF (United Negro College Fund) on changing the National Achievement program into one for college graduates. The 2015 scholarships would be based on last year’s junior scores in 2013, right?

Wow, so I wonder what changes will come? I hope it will be stay similar to national merit and not have income qualifications. Older s was national achievement finalist and younger son took it today.
