some colleges will match it for the 3 remaining years, such as Washington U in St. Louis. Howard gives a full ride.

I got the $2500 scholarship...I hope NYU will cover the remaining 3 years, but probably not lol.

I got a 208 on my PSAT sophomore year and i haven't heard anything from NA at all. I got a letter for national merit though saying i was a commended scholar. what's up w/ that? i thought the cut off for NA was lower than NM.

sophomore year scores don't count for national merit or national achievement. Only junior year scores count. I think national achievement is on different schedule than national merit, so there probably haven't been notifications yet (for 2006 psat's)

226 PSAT. Will I make National achievement? I haven't heard anything yet. And I'm a junior.

fredfredburger,
judging from post #3 on this thread, seems like notification may occur in Aug-September. I think a 226 will easily put you in range for national achievement. I think there's a thread somewhere on CC about National Achievement cutoffs.

Bumping this up to encourage discussion for remainder of 2007. I'm still curious about the cutoff scores by region for NA. So far the lowest I've seen of anyone who claimed to have made it was 187, at least I think that's what it was. Other's have stated the cutoff is around 190. Guess it depends on the region just like the Nat'l Merit program.

Seems the notification process is also very uneven. Some people know in late August, while others don't find out until fairly late in Sept.
We haven't heard, but seems as though students from other schools in our state (FL) have.

I'll be calling tomorrow to find out D's status. I post their response either way.

OMG i just saw my PSAT score online----- 197. If the NATIONAL cutoff for commended is atleast 200 then do i still have a shot at being National Achievment SF at least? (btw i m from VA)

I also got a 197 I wish I could have gotten 200, but oh well, I live in texas and hope and pray that I get it.

I got my scores today- 218. the frustrating thing is, I think the cutoff for new york is 219 or 220.

rockandrolltime; I wouldn't worry about national achievement ( that's what this thread is about); your score sounds like national merit range to me.
