In my current situation after this years ap testing i will hopefully have taken 8 ap tests and passed 7(I failed world history last year). I really want the national ap scholar award, but in order to do that I would need to take 1 more ap test. I’m somewhat confident I’ll get 4+ on all my exams this year, so I would need to self study one at this point in the year to complete 8 tests. I’m already taking the easiest ap’s to self study: psychology, human geo.,statistics. I haven’t however, taken environmental science yet. Can I cram for environmental and still get a 4 this late in the year if I just read through a review book? If so which book should I get?
I would highly advise against self studying this late. At this point, you should have already had a background on the material and should be reviewing for the AP exam. There’s simply not enough time for you to learn the info AND review it in time for the exam.
I would say the there is no benefit for the national AP scholar award. I’d concentrate on completing the courses you’ve started without starting anything new.
@skieurope So the award won’t be impressive to top schools?
It gives you a sense of accomplishment, but I don’t think it moves the needle from a college application perspective.
Alright thanks! I won’t take it and I’ll focus on acing the rest of my ap’s
