I realize now that I am in good position to achieve the National AP Scholar award in my senior year. However it is in my senior year, so to be honest it really wouldn't make an impact at all since the tests will be after the application deadline for colleges. So although people say it looks great, which it probably would be, it won't be able to make a difference because of the timing, correct?

True, the timing precludes it from making a difference in admissions decisions.

I would even go so far as to say that AP Scholar honors are of relatively little value at the highly selective colleges. A lot of APs is a lot of APs, schools don’t need the National AP Scholar designation to tell them that.

Doesn’t mean much.

The award isn’t really competitive. It’s just a marker that says “you took at least X tests with an average score of at least Y.” It’s not like you actually won anything. Reporting your AP scores provides colleges with the exact same information.

That being said, it looks nice to put on your resume when applying for jobs, as employers have no idea what it is ^.^ .

Yeah it won’t matter, but I’m hoping I did well enough this year for it just for my pride :)

The award does not mean much but if you do well in the AP, you can get credit o get out of requirements and prerequisites in many schools.
