National AP Scholar?

I've been hearing about this a lot, and I was wondering...what and how exactly can one become a national or state AP scholar?

google it.

wow, THANKS?

for anyone else who was curious [taken from the AP website]:
AP Scholar Awards
The AP Program offers several AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams.
I’m going for Nat’l Scholar after junior year, which is decent I guess. Let’s hope I make it :)

@member - I’m sooooo close; I took 3 this year as a sophomore and I’m taking 4 next year ):

Oh well.

Yeah I took 3 as a soph and 6 now lol

Aiming for HYSPM?

This “award” isn’t that significant.

It is if you get it by junior year so you can put it on applications

Aiming for Oxford  (and APs are really big on their apps)
And maybe HYP (not S lol)

Guys, it really isn’t the amount of AP’s that you take. If you’re taking AP’s just so you can put them on college apps, is it worth it? There was this post a while back about having a lot of AP’s.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/97255-whoever-has-most-aps-wins.html?highlight=ap’s+wins

Would you have to include tests that you’ve retaken when it comes to consideration for AP scholar? If so, could I not just cancel the bad score I got from last year, to improve my AP scoring record?

Haha these awards just seem like a cheap way for College Board to earn money.
They’re pretty much like, “Take as many $86 tests as you possibly can so you can earn an award that has no major significance!”

Around 600 juniors become National AP Scholars, nationally. That is definitely something different, although not a huge deal.

not really. sat I / II’s seemed to override ap scores in admission decisions for me…

English schools for the win :)
