AP Scholar Awards List and FAQ

I've seen quite a few questions about how the Scholar Awards work. So: here, I explain how they go.

First of all - these ARE citeable but there is no monetary or physical award.

Second - Each AP only counts once - the higher score takes effect. So if you took Bio, Chem, English Comp and retook Comp - you would NOT be eligible for Honor.

And now the list:

Award Levels

AP Scholar

Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

AP Scholar with Honor

Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

AP Scholar with Distinction

Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

State AP Scholar

Granted to the one male and one female student in each U.S. state and the District of Columbia with scores of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams, and then the highest average score (at least 3.5) on all AP Exams taken.

So if I got a 3 on 10 APs and you got a 5 on 6 APs, I would get the award.

National AP Scholar

Granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

This is obviously US only - each country has a national scholar specifically for that country.

International Awards:

National AP Scholar (Canada)

Granted to students in Canada who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on five or more of these exams.

National AP Scholar (Bermuda)

Granted to students in Bermuda who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on five or more of these exams.

DoDEA AP Scholar

Granted to the one male and one female student attending Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools with the highest average score on the greatest number of AP Exams. The minimum requirement is a score of 3 or higher on three exams.

International AP Scholar

Granted to the one male and one female student attending a school outside the United States and Canada that is not a DoDEA school with the highest average score on the greatest number of AP Exams. The minimum requirement is a score of 3 or higher on three exams.

AP International Diploma:

On at least ONE AP answer sheet, send your scores to a foreign college (US students only - must apply in another country  not state).

You’re in.

Now: get a 3 or higher on: two language APs (if your school provides official letterhead to the AP that you know a language, you only need one language AP BUT you must make it up later - I’ll explain)

One AP Exam designated as offering a global perspective: World History , Human Geography, and Government and Politics: Comparative.

One Science or Math AP

One of any other AP not designated above (unless you got the letter - then you need 2)

Or you could just provide the following link: [**Qualifying for an AP Scholar Award – AP Students | College Board](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Qualifying for an AP Scholar Award – AP Students | College Board)[/b]

Pretty sure you have to average a 3.5 to qualify for this award. Just saying.

Also, there is a physical reward. It’s a certificate you get in the mail.

@eobaggs

People are too lazy to click website links.

@Pancaked that’s to break a tie (which is inevitable) but if there’s no tie then the 3.5 isn’t needed.

^Clearly false post is clearly false. Is the wording really that difficult?

Clearly false post what huh?
