Thanks, @caveatesq! We’ll keep on being optimistic here in NY! Good luck to all.
Letter came today in California, National Buckeye & Trustees
Got National Buckeye and Provost! Applied to animal sciences w32 act and 3.9 gpa
Illinois, ACT 32, SAT 1370, 3.89, HS doesn’t rank. National Buckeye and Trustee came yesterday.
Son: In state, SAT 1450, 4.0 UW, #1 in class, 6 AP, accepted early … never heard anything about scholarships. I thought he would have gotten Maximus. Seems that a lot of students are getting scholarships with much lower stats. OOS get preferential treatment?
Daughter: Georgia, ACT 35, SAT 1540, 4.0W, HS does not rank, National Buckeye and Maximus letter arrived yesterday approx 3 weeks after early acceptance notification.
D (OOS - CA) received letter in mail yesterday announcing merit. $2,500 / yr (3.2 GPA) + $12,500 / yr (2.5 GPA). These are the Provost and National Buckeye respectively.
Does anyone know whether international students will receive scholarship notification by mail or email?
Son received the National Buckeye and Trustee yesterday.
Chicago IL
High school doesn’t rank
3.7gpa
31 ACT
@amazedapricot Ohio State’s website states that international freshmen are not eligible for merit
scholarships.

@adlgel haha yeah, I know. Actually, I am a US citizen currently living in Brazil, so I know that I am eligible and am considered OOS for OSU. I just do not know through which platform they will contact me if I do receive a merit scholarship. Thanks for the info though!
Just got back from a vacation to a letter from OSU. Reading all of the comments about people hearing over this weekend, I was extremely hopeful it was something about merit award. Unfortunately, it was just a letter essentially just saying to come to their school. I was accepted in the most recent round, and I’m wondering if this letter is really just bad news in terms of merit.
OOS in Maryland and we received our award letter on 2/16. Great package that puts OSU in the running, financially speaking. Since then, I have received an email and another letter stating that the financial award package will be sent by the end of March. Go figure!
@realOG we are in the same boat. We’ve gone as far as calling Admissions from out of the country and as of an hour ago my son is still in review.

@Brownsl - it does seem strange that your son didn’t get any scholarship. My son got his award by letter within a couple weeks after his EA acceptance. He got Maximus with 35 ACT, 1490 SAT, and 3.9something UW GPA. Another friend with 32 ACT received the Provost scholarship. We both live in-state, in Columbus, actually.
Maybe it would be worth it to contact the university. Maybe the letter got lost or thrown away by mistake or such. ??? We haven’t logged in a portal recently so I don’t know if you can see that information online.
You said that he received his acceptance early. Do you mean he applied by November 1? That was the deadline. If he applied November 2 he could still have been admitted “early” - like in December but he would have technically missed the scholarship deadline.
@Choski94 I should have followed up but he did finally hear from OSU. Even though he had stats for Maximus they gave him Provost. I wonder if that is typically done? They only have so many to offer of each and they used up the quota of Maximus Scholarships so he got the next highest?
@Brownsl I know of people last year who received the award one or two levels below what their stats would suggest. Unfortunately I also know of people this year who qualify for Provost who have yet to even receive Buckeye… it appears it be rather random.
My son is also one of those out of state students who did not receive any merit awards. His stats are an ACT of 32, GPA 3.75, with acceptance into their Business Scholars program. He submitted his application on October 1st and accepted in the first wave. It is so disappointing that he got money from just about every out of state school except for the one that meant the most.
Congratulations to all who have been accepted and received their awards. I wish you all the best!
Emailed a contact for OSU and asked if all merit awards were out. Received an email stating that they are “still releasing merit awards and all awards should be finalized by the end of March when we release all of our financial aid awards”. S is in-state, DA to Fisher, and Scholars Program. Has not heard about any possible merit, yet.
