I was accepted by Ohio State near the end of March and I was wondering if the National Buckeye Scholarship for out of state residents is still being given out as I have yet to be notified that I’ve received it. I met the SAT requirements by 30 points and was under the assumption that if you make the requirement it is almost an automatic scholarship. It is unlikely that I’ll be able to afford the OOS tuition if I do not at least get this scholarship. Thanks.

Here is the language from OSU’s description of the Buckeye Scholarship:

“Ohio State is committed to enrolling a diverse and talented student population. The National Buckeye Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to non-Ohio students required to pay the out-of-state surcharge who are admitted to the Columbus campus for autumn quarter. Those considered have ACT composite scores of 27 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1220 or higher.”

If you feel you should be/should have been considered for the National Buckeye, and it does not appear in your Financial Aid, I would certainly call OSU’s financial aid office and ask about your particular situation.

Did you get your app in by Dec. 1? I know to be awarded merits they had to be in by Dec.1.

I got my app in before December 1st and am just waiting on them to call me back as they were busy the few times I’ve tried.

A counselor told me before I applied that its pretty much automatic when you reach the requirements. But with being accepted this late I wonder if its still a possibility.

I am in the same scenario, I am definitely qualified for the scholarship, but I haven’t received notification yet.
