National co-op scholarships -- do they stack with other merit aid?

Does anyone know if the $6K/year co-op scholarship can be combined with other scholarships at either RIT (I don't believe so -- they seem to say you can only get 1 merit scholarship) or Drexel (not clear from their website).

My S will automatically qualify for more than $6K/year at RIT based on this test scores and class rank (and he has also already been awarded another $6K/year computing medal scholarship at RIT which I believe also does not stack).

At Drexel he has been awarded a merit scholarship in excess of $6K already and we believe it will be increased to full tuition as long as he advances from NMSF to NMF. Would they allow him to also win a co-op scholarship and use it toward housing expenses?

If he can't stack them, then he probably shouldn't waste his time applying for this one, but I wouldn't want him to miss out on an opportunity if they can be combined.

Thanks!

Generally, when schools say you can’t stack scholarships, they mean their OWN scholarships. Is this particular scholarship through the college? If not, it would not be part of the “stacking” thing.

I’m unclear on whether it is or not. The selection of the winners is done by each “partner institution” and the scholarship details are slightly different for each participating college, so it may be the college’s own money, or it may be some combination of the institution’s money and the National Commission for Cooperative Education, that is not clearly specified on the NCCE website. NCCE seems to be an advocacy organization.

You can call each school & ask.

That is the obvious answer, isn’t it  I was hoping to get him to work on it tonight as he has no homework, if we managed to hear from someone who knew for sure :D
