National College Match 2012-2013

I will be applying for QuestBridge National College Match this year. What can I do over the summer to prepare?

ndl, I will also be applying for the College Match this year, so I’ll tell you what I’m doing.

Make sure you familiarize yourself with all the dates. That’s probably the most important thing. Not just with QuestBridge, but also with the schools you plan on applying to outside of QuestBridge. Also, be familiar with all the individual items that the schools you’re looking at require you to turn in with the QB application. I know from looking at the website that every school usually asks for the same 4-6 items like the CSS Profile and transcripts/test scores.

Keep in mind that if you get matched, you’ll be stuck there, so be absolutely sure that you want to go to the schools that rank. I’m still trying to figure out if I should rank Northwestern or not.

Other than that, just plan accordingly. This process is very complex, to say the least. And make sure you make your application as appealing as you can. Good luck!

Thanks.

How can I find out what essay questions will be on the application so I can start working on that stuff now (while I still have some free time)?

One of the prompts is out. It was sent through an email.

"We are interested in learning more about you and the context in which you have grown up, formed your aspirations, and accomplished your academic successes.

Please describe the factors and challenges that have most shaped your personal life and aspirations. How have these factors caused you to grow?"

(800 word limit)
