Hello, I am deemed a national hispanic scholar by collegeboard, and I believe I have a good idea of what this means.. however certain circumstances have made it easier for me to attend the local university, UTSA. as I have searched UTSA up and down and cannot find any costs covered by this program. I wonder if I transfer to another school, will these offers still be on the table? I understand it is a renewable scholarship so I am hoping this is true. Thank you for your help.

National Hispanic isn’t a scholarship. They don’t pay you at all. It’s up to the school to offer a scholarship. I would suggest asking the school if they’ll offer you any money for it, and if not, many other schools do. I got a full-ride for it, though provided solely by the school.

I looked on the UTSA website and can’t find any merit aid for NHRP either, however I checked only the general scholarships, not the ones through the Colleges and Departments. To be absolutely sure, you might want to give them a call.

About NHRP scholarships for transfer students, that’s not something I’ve heard much about, so I think you’re going to have to check the websites for the schools you’re interested in. I did check UNebraska as it is listed on one of the threads for NHRP full rides on this thread:

They offer NHRP merit aid freshman, but not for transfers:

This is just an example, I suggest that you check the other colleges that offer NHRP scholarships as each school may be different.
