National Merit Asian or African Scholar?

<p>I have two friends who both received the National Merit Hispanic Scholar, and I was wondering if there is a National Merit Asian Scholar or National Merit African Scholar. If there isn't why not? Thanks!!</p>

It should be noted that, unlike the National Achievement program, the NHR program does NOT lead to a scholarship.</p>
