National Merit Cutoffs possibly going up?

Ah…makes sense! I do think my data for all years is now good, if you want to compare against yours. (Never mind, this data matches what was posted in the link above…we’re all good!)

Test year/class of/96/97/98/99/99+
2013 2015 200 203 208 215 225
2012 2014 197 201 205 211 222
2011 2013 197 201 205 211 222
2010 2012 199 203 207 214 224
2009 2011 197 201 206 212 222
2008 2010 198 202 206 212 223
2007 2009 198 201 206 212 222
2006 2008 198 201 206 212 223
2005 2007 201 204 209 215 225
2004 2006 199 203 207 213 223
2003 2005 200 204 208 214 224

Note: The 2012 data is the same as the 2011 data. In 2011, this data was reached from a sample of actual 2011 testers. In 2012, it was complete data from the previous (2011 again) class. (The mean and SD moved a nudge with the full data, but the cuts all stayed the same, making me wonder why they’ve committed this atrocity!)

I guess I am not understanding how you can predict cutoff trend with vrespect to prev year for 2013 Test takers because the 99+ of 225 is based on performance of test takers of 2012. Unless you know how the 2013 trst takers did you can not predict the NMSQT SEMIFINAL cutoff. That is my opinion. What do you think?

It frightens me Jersey Boy, but you have a valid point. I sure hope it’s not more huge jumps this year though.

When do they release the state wide scores? Where should I look for them?

According to another thread, the national merit commended was a 201! Hope that is good news for you!
(if this is irrelevant to you guys sorry haha)

This is scary. Next year I have to take the PSAT to try to qualify, but my score Sophomore year was a 178. I mean, obviously I’m going to try my darn hardest, but I feel so lame.
