National Merit/Hispanic scholarships

Hi, I took my PSAT this year, and I know you don't find out about the results of the National Merit Scholarship or National Hispanic scholarship, but I was wondering for people who previously won, what were your scores? Or even if you didn't win and know what kind of standards they're looking for, I'd be really interested in knowing. I don't feel like waiting to find out at a time so far away, because the seniors at my school just found out recently whether they won from their junior year (and I'm only a junior now).

Well, to be a semi-finalist you need to cross the minimum PSAT cross line (213 for PA, idk about the other states). I heard that to qualify to be a finalist, you have to write a gooood essay, have teacher recommendations, etc.

Yeah there was a thing that said 'If you have an asterisk next to your score, you did not qualify." I, however, didn’t have an asterisk, so I guess that means I did qualify? I only got a 210 though (New York) but I’m hoping that I still have a shot at the Hispanic scholarship, and possibly even a finalist spot.

The absence of an asterisk merely means that you are eligible for consideration; the vast majority of people with no asterisk do not receive any commendation or scholarship from National Merit. With a 210, you have an excellent chance at becoming a National Hispanic Scholar (though you should be aware that there is no monetary reward associated with this). 210, however, is not high enough to become a Semifinalist.

Aw I was hoping the National Hispanic Scholar title would include money… but thank you for clarifying everything.
