@Napermom, our daughters sound almost identical. My daughter’s going to start out in Chemistry and pick up a double major in Psychology. She’s very interested in neuroscience. Dunno if she’ll pursue this as an MD, a PhD, or both. We looked at Pharmacy, too. Even with the Patterson, there seemed to be a crushing debt load in Pharmacy. UK was love at first sight and that was reinforced at Merit Weekend.
My daughter thought about so many majors, including Chemistry and Psychology. They are just so young at this point. No telling what the future will bring. The nice thing about UKy is that many majors allow for one or more minors, and switching majors is not impossible here, like it may be at some other Universities.
@NaperMom thanks so much! I am so grateful for the feedback. My son is accepting the Patterson and we are thrilled… i appreciate that there are so many career majors at one school. We can’t wait to buy U.ofK.sweatshirts (but we’re hoping the price goes down after Wisconsin beats them this weekend)

(btw…just as I was contacting people about my happiness that the decision was made my son mentioned that it’s actually not “made” so much as narrowed…if Emory oxford comes thru with full ride scholarship he’ll have another decision. …so I’m still sitting on pins/needles 2 more weeks…still hoping it’s Kentucky. .i love horses)
