Singletary and other competitive scholarships

Has any others received the phone call to schedule the interview? How long between being accepted into Honors Program did you receive the phone call?

My son has a friend who is interviewing next Friday for scholarships. I don’t know when he applied.

D was accepted into the Honors program in early November and had an interview late November.

I would also like to know about this! I applied to Kentucky at the beginning of November and was accepted before Thanksgiving. I have already received the OOS $10,000/year scholarship, but should I be worried if I have not heard back yet about Singletary and the honors program?

I am having the same issue indecisiveinfp7. I’m hoping I’ll recieve a call soon. I think they are calling through the end of December but I’m not sure.

My mom called the admissions office to check and it appears that they actually will not be finished with interviews until the end of January (I think) and results won’t be available until February!

My son had an interview on December 9th and got the notification that afternoon that he was accepted into Honors program. He was told at the interview that he would be notified mid to late January about the scholarship.

On January 7th, I got an email on my university account that they would be conducting interviews through January and all students would be notified mid- February.

They are still interviewing for Singletary. Son has an interview tomorrow. They called and left him a message “regarding competitive scholarships” last Wednesday, and he spent the next week trying to get back in touch with them via phone, email etc… Finally, with the help of his Guidance counselor, he got through to them yesterday afternoon and he’s scheduled for tomorrow morning. A rather disorganized process, IMHO.

@allboys4me How did your S interview for the Singletary scholarship go? Any tips?

@CoMoMom - He’s an 18 year old boy. Therefore, it went, “fine”, lol. All I could get out of him was that it wasn’t hard - very conversational. It was timely, starting when it was supposed to, ending when it was supposed to.

@allboys4me Glad to hear that it went well! We are still hoping to get a call for an interview. I don’t know if it is too late or not?

Any idea if they are still calling? I was told by MLK but I have heard they are very behind. I am a solid candidate but OOS, really hoping for an interview.

Does anyone know when the notifications for receiving this scholarship get sent out? I had an interview but haven’t heard back.

I received an email saying letters would be sent out mid Feb

My son listed university of Kentucky as early decision choice school and was under the impression that if he did so AND was awarded the honor of national merit finalist he would qualify (be granted?) Full ride to U.of K. He has done both but has not been invited to any interviews for scholarship s… i don’t know what to make of this. He hasn’t gotten word of anything from the University and just received confirmation of his finalist standing. .any idea when we can find out more? Should we call?

I don’t think NMF have to interview. I believe if you qualify you receive the Patterson Scholarship. I would call, though.

Also, my mom called UKy last Thursday and they told us decisions wouldn’t be mailed out for potentially two more weeks.

@DisneyPrincess1‌ IN Post #16 you said mom called about scholarship s .we’re you referring to when u.of k. Notifies Patterson and singletary recipients?

Yes, im eligible for the singletary scholarship we were waiting to sign up for merit weekend until we knew but with uky being closed this it may take even longer (I can only go to the first one) they said they were sensitive to that deadline but there was no way to speed up the process hope this helps

Has anyone received their letter yet?
