National Merit Scholarship Notificaiton

<p>So I've looked all over the place to find some information regarding the actual NMScholarship- not Semifinalist, not Finalist, not college scholarships, just the official National Merit Scholar designation- but I can't find anything helpful. I was hoping someone could tell me when we actually find out if we moved from Finalist to Winner.</p>

<p>The site says "May 7," but it ALSO says that "from April to June" notifications will be sent out in four waves of some sort. If I haven't heard anything by now (I live overseas so post mail takes a couple weeks or longer than it would in the States), should I consider myself out of the running? Any help would be greatly appreciated. </p>

<p><em>Nevermind</em> I found another page on the website that answered my question. I suppose I just didn’t get the scholarship. Wish they would send some sort of acknowledgement, though.</p>

<p>They did send a letter a few days ago to my D saying they have already announced the corporate and NMSC scholarships. Now only some school sponsored ones left to be announced.</p>

<p>I just got my letter a couple days ago. Disappointing, but I do appreciate that they sent an acknowledgement after all.</p>
