Does anyone know how OSU awards its NM scholarships? The website says all Finalists receive $1,000 and other Finalists eceive full in-state tuition (Distinguished NM Scholarship). I was wondering how many of each are awarded and how they decide which Finalists receive which scholarship.

Oooh I would like to know the answer to this question as well!!

Let’s see. IIRC, to get the full amount a finalist must have declared OSU their “first-choice” with national merit by a certain date. (I forget the terminology and date, but there are forms to fill out that finalists are sent and all that.)

Also, I think the distinction is just to be sure that your academic record matches your testing record. That is, most people who picked OSU as described above get the full amount, it’s just a precaution so that they’re not promising everyone money before looking at their records.

Basically: pretty sure almost all finalists get the full amount.
