National Society of Collegiate Scholars????

Does anyone have any information about this organization? I just recieved a nomination thing the mail, from the UCB branch but I can't tell if its legit or just a scam.

Oh yeah there is a 75$ fee to join...doesn't sound legit to me.

Any opinions?

probably another scam...like who's who, Golden key, and the rest. You pay money to belong to an organization with a bunch of random people, and if you're really dense, then you'd buy a book listing all the random ass members that you don't even know (who's who of america, who's who of colleges, etc etc all try to scam you this way). Just imagine, there are some people who make a living/profit out of people's desires to pay 70+ dollars to belong to a club that most likely won't do anything for them....and grad schools/employers know this....belonging to "Golden Key' or being listed in Who's Who means absolutely nothing.

You have a good eye for scams.

Here is their homepage: http://www.nscs.org/
Berkeley Chapter: http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~nscs/

They are also "approved" by the Association of College Honor Societies.

I really don't know...
