The National Society of Collegiate Scholars???

well, I got an email today to join the NSCS, I was wondering if anyone is in it, and if the $75 membership is worth it? lol

"The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is the nation’s premiere honor organization for high achieving students. NSCS recognizes outstanding academic achievement among first- and second-year college students. Membership is based on grade point average and class standing, and is by invitation only. NSCS aims to honor, inspire and engage its members, and offers benefits including scholarships, leadership development, travel opportunities and career resources.

NSCS has active chapters at 228 colleges and universities nationwide, in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Chapters are involved in service to their campus and local communities, as well as scholastic and social activities.

NSCS members are also eligible to participate in a variety of activities sponsored by the Society. Scholarships and awards, leadership development activities, service programs, community building and information sharing are the focus of activities organized nationally."

...

It's not worth it.

I received the same email and I looked it up online. Apparently hundreds (if not thousands) receive the exact same invite nationwide. I read it's not a scam, but it's completely pointless. Don't pay the $75 to have it on your resume. The free solution would be to put it on your resume and just write down "NSCS Invitee".

For more commentary this website has a few pages on NSCS from others who have received the same invite email. National Society Of Collegiate Scholars Opinions
