national student leadership conference

I recently received a mail that I was chosen to represent my school for the national student leadership conference.

I just wanna ask how prestigious this is compared to other programs.

bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump bump :)

Do you know very many teenagers who didn’t get such a mailing? I don’t.

This organization would like you to think that you’ve been given a great honor. Really, you’ve been given an opportunity to participate in an expensive summer program. I’m sure it’s a fine program. It’s just not remotely prestigious.

ok, thanks for the repsonse, because im in the middle of applying for another summer camp

If you’re sure you’d like the other thing, I can’t think of a reason to change.

+1 Sikorsky.

I wasted a lot of time and money on that thing this last summer. They make it sound extremely interesting, and while I don’t know your level of academic accomplishment or exactly how easy your classes are for you, I can tell you that this is basically college padding for rich kids who have some talent but no incentive to do anything else. Probably a little harsh, but I learned exactly zero things when I went. The best it will do is give you an idea of how living in a dorm works…

EDIT: Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the other program you’re applying to? I can try to give you some comparison.

I agree with the members above, I’ve been receiving those letters since about middle school. I think that if you do end up doing the camp though, it’s what you make of it.

@ MrMonday

I have already been accepted into the Yale Young Global Scholars

I am also in the process of applying for Wharton’s sports business academy

This program does not really interfere with the other two

So I am deciding since spending tons of money :(
